Discovering the Future of Skincare: Insights on Empower BodyCare Creams and the Latest CBD Research

At Empower BodyCare, we’re committed to revolutionizing body care by harnessing the power of CBD for better health. Our creams are designed not only to nourish and rejuvenate but also to address various skin concerns supported by cutting-edge research. We are thrilled to share some groundbreaking findings that align perfectly with our mission and highlight how Empower BodyCare Creams are at the forefront of body care innovation.

Recently, we came across an exciting study led by researchers from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic Research in Aventura, Florida1. This research has unveiled promising results about cannabidiol (CBD) and its protective effects against ultraviolet-A (UVA) radiation, which is known to accelerate skin aging and increase the risk of skin cancer.

In this prospective, single-center pilot clinical trial, 19 participants applied either a CBD cream or a control cream (without CBD) to blinded spots on their buttocks twice daily for 14 days. After this period, their skin was exposed to a radiation dose up to three times higher than what’s needed to cause a burn or injury. Researchers then analyzed skin biopsies taken 24 hours after exposure to assess cellular and DNA damage typically associated with UVA radiation.

Adam Friedman, professor and chair of dermatology at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, described the trial as a major breakthrough. “This innovative trial is the first to establish the potential protective capacity of CBD, when purposefully delivered, in humans against the harmful effects of UVA radiation,” he said. “It not only validates but also marks a significant advancement in the field of cannabinoid-based skincare.”1

We were particularly excited by the study’s results. They showed that 21 percent of participants had less redness on skin treated with CBD compared to those who received the control treatment 24 hours after UVA exposure. Additionally, biopsies revealed that skin treated with CBD showed significantly reduced thickening— a sign of sun-induced damage. This indicates that CBD effectively mitigated the expected cellular injury from UVA radiation.1

Even more exciting was the finding that CBD cream reduced DNA damage and mutations associated with UVA-induced skin aging and potential skin cancer. This discovery is groundbreaking because it means CBD can help protect the skin not only from visible damage but also from deeper, molecular-level harm that could lead to serious conditions like skin cancer.1

Adam Friedman hopes these findings will spur more research and investment into practical applications of CBD in dermatology and beyond. “These findings will hopefully reinvigorate research efforts and investment in translating the preclinical knowledge we have on the impact of CBD in the skin to many areas within dermatology and beyond,” he remarked.1

Published on July 16, 2024, in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the study represents a significant advancement in our understanding of CBD’s protective benefits. It’s an exciting development for those of us passionate about integrating science into effective body care solutions.

At Empower BodyCare, we’re eager to incorporate such groundbreaking research into our product formulations. Our goal is to ensure that our users benefit from the latest scientific advancements in body care. As research continues to evolve, we’re ready to leverage these discoveries to offer products that provide enhanced protection and rejuvenation.

This intersection of science and body care is truly inspiring. The latest study on CBD shows that we’re on the cusp of significant breakthroughs in dermatology. For those who want to protect their skin from the harmful effects of UVA radiation while benefiting from natural, research-backed ingredients, Empower BodyCare Creams represent the future of skincare innovation. We are excited to see how these advancements will shape the next generation of skincare solutions and look forward to continuing our journey toward healthier, more resilient skin.
